Word from the head of the medicine department
On my own behalf and on behalf of the entire administrative team of the
department as well as all the teachers, I would like to wish you a happy
new academic year 2023-2024 to all medical students and particularly
new baccalaureate graduates, wishing them the welcome to the faculty
of medicine without forgetting those of the Chlef annex.
This welcome message was deliberately delayed to coincide with this
blessed occasion that is the feast of Mawlid Ennabaoui Echarif which I
hope will bring you lots of luck and success in your studies and your life.
This return to school is very special for the reasons that you know, for
this reason we ask you to be lenient and patient because together we will
end up overcoming all the difficulties and challenges to carry out our task
and our mission.
Medical studies are certainly long but very exciting in the sense that you
will acquire the fundamental bases of medicine for 3 years (preclinical
cycle), then 3 years of clinical cycle where you will learn to recognize
organic diseases, epidemiology, medical ethics, legal medicine,
occupational medicine, health economics and many other discoveries.
You will end with internships for a year where you will be taught to
become a real clinician and practitioner.
The doors to specialized studies will then be opened to you through
competitive examinations.
I saw a lot of enthusiasm and ambition in your eyes on the first day and I
am sure that you will be our pride and our excellent successor.

Je tiens en mon nom et au nom de toute l’équipe administrative du département ainsi que tous les
enseignants de vous souhaiter une bonne rentrée universitaire 2023-2024 à tous les étudiantes et
étudiants de médecine et particulièrement les nouveaux bachelières et bacheliers en leur souhaitant
la bienvenue à la faculté de médecine sans oublier celles et ceux de l’annexe de Chlef.
Ce mot de bienvenue a été volontairement retardé pour le faire coïncider avec cette occasion bénie
qu’est la fête du Mawlid Ennabaoui Echarif que j’espère vous apportera plein de chance et de
réussites dans vos études et votre vie.
Cette rentrée est très particulière pour les raisons que vous connaissez, pour cela nous vous
demandons d’être indulgents et patients car nous finirons ensemble par relever toutes les difficultés
et les défis pour mener à bien notre tâche et notre mission.
Les études médicales sont certes longues mais très passionnantes dans le sens ou vous allez pendant
03 ans (cycle préclinique)acquérir les bases fondamentales de la médecine, puis 03 ans de cycle
clinique ou vous allez apprendre à reconnaitre les maladies organiques, l’épidémiologie, la
déontologie médicale, la médecine légale, la médecine du travail, l’économie de santé et tant
d’autres découvertes.
Vous terminerez par les stages d’internat durant une année ou on vous apprendra à devenir un
véritable clinicien et praticien.
Les portes des études spécialisées vous seront ensuite ouvertes par voie de concours.
J’ai vu dans vos yeux le premier jour beaucoup d’enthousiasme et d’ambition et je suis sûr que vous
serez notre fierté et notre excellente relève.
