History

The center for information and communication systems and networks, distance education and distance education (ex. Center de Calcul) was created in September 1987 as a technical service common to all the services of the Saad Dahlab University of BLIDA, it was installed in pavilion 23. In 1990, the center was moved to pavilion 18.

In its first phase, it ensured:

Technological and methodological support for students and teacher-researchers.
Assistance in the development of some applications.
Insurance of practical work sessions for more than 2000 students in programming, applications and graduation project.
Assistance of teachers and engineers in their projects.
Advice, controls and initiation on both hardware and software aspects.
IT Equipment
The center had the following computer equipment:

VAX 11/730 "02 Mb memory size"

DHU 11 communication interface

Multifunction DMF32 communication interface

Removable disk drives.

magnetic tape drive.

matrix printer.

daisy printer.

monochrome screens.

Microcomputers

PC/AT UNISYS 300 compatible with a whole software library.
