The Blida1 Central University Library is a scientific and cultural institution which aspires to collect, organize, recover and transmit the sources of all information collected in all its forms. And this in order to facilitate and simplify access for researchers and affiliates to the sources in question, as quickly as possible, with less effort and with the greatest possible precision, for better satisfaction of their information needs in their field of research. specialization or work, whether in traditional or digital form.

The Central Library is made up of four departments distributed as follows:

Procurement department
This service constitutes the first link in the documentary chain whose prerogatives extend from the selection to the reception of documentary resources. the service is supplied by three sources:
– Purchasing, which is the main source of increase in the documentary fund,
– Submission of theses and inter-library exchange.
- Donations.
The missions of the service are summarized in:
– Make the various tools for selecting documentary resources available to teachers,
– Order tracking,
– Organize exchanges and donations and inter-library loans,
– The deposit and inventory of Doctoral theses.

The importance of this service lies in the physical and documentary processing of different information media, by carrying out their analysis and organization with the aim of ensuring better accessibility of the book or document to students and professionals. teachers.

Document processing has three components: cataloging – indexing – classification.

Knowing that these operations meet international librarianship standards, this service uses modern techniques in the processing and dissemination of information to ensure optimal accessibility to the funds of the central library.

This department has two offices:

  • Processing of documents in Arabic language,
  • Processing of documents in foreign languages.

The operations of the service are summarized in:

  • Take charge of the indexing operation of documentary resources (book, magazine, article, CD, etc.) from the documentary collection.

 

The interest of this service is to help directly: teachers, doctoral students, students in maser 2 as well as the various researchers and visitors to complete and complete their research, by directing them towards the various documentary sources, with traditional methods which are found on paper, or modern such as: electronic indexing for the search of a documentary fund – internet – CD…etc.

The service is made up as follows:

  • Part of: periodicals - encyclopedias - technical engineering - juris classifier - EMC,
  • Mapping component of theses on the national online documentation system SNDL and the national portal for reporting theses PNST,
  • Component for thesis funds made available to researchers in paper and CD format,
  • Processing component: classification and cataloging of doctoral and magister theses and dissertations from Blida University. And possibly to scan the old theses for a better use.
  • The reading area with modern equipment and internet connection, includes a room for teachers and doctoral students, and room 5 for master 2 students.

  • The internal loan of all theses in paper or electronic format,
  • The processing of magister and doctoral theses.

This service is the storefront and the window of the library in charge of the reception of the various readers to direct them towards the available services offered by the central library.
