Synthesis and Design of fluorescent probes for various applications

The detection and treatment of certain pathologies such as cancer and Alzheimer's neurodegenerative disease require medical imaging, an essential tool these days. The techniques used to detect, accurately diagnose and treat this type of pathology without adverse effects are fluorescence microscopy and photodynamic therapy (PDT). These techniques use fluorescent molecules. Our project focuses on the synthesis and design of new cyanine-type fluorescent molecules for applications in medical imaging or for the detection of specific biological targets (DNA, RNA).
